Dr Alison Barwise has been a doctor for 15 years and specialises in General Practice. She trained at Southampton Medical School qualifying in 2004. She then went on to gain experience in respiratory and endocrine medicine before starting a surgical rotation through urology, colorectal and breast surgery. She worked for a year in Emergency Medicine before deciding to specialise in General Practice. She now enjoys balancing work as a GP with writing.

Outside of medicine and writing she enjoys running, surfing and travel.
